CAS: 3943-89-3, ethyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate (ethyl protocatechuate) is
an antioxidant and prolyl-hydroxylase inhibitor found in the testa of
peanut seeds. It protects the myocardium by activating NO synthase and
generating mitochondrial ROS. Ethyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate also induces
cell autophagy and apoptosis in ESCC cells, inhibits collagen synthesis,
and has a bone-protective effect.
